It began with a longing.
Om Som wasn't born out of a business plan. It began with a student sitting on the floor of a yoga studio, dreaming of something different.
To support you in cultivating a healthy body, a calm mind and a strong sense of purpose, through the traditional wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda.
A place that felt relational, not transactional. A space full of plants and light, where tea is shared, conversations are real, and yoga is honoured as something sacred, not just exercise.
A space where people could come as they are and be met with respect, care and honest teaching. That dream became Om Som.
What started as one person's dream has become a living, breathing community: on the mat in Berwick, online, and around the world. Whether you're brand new or many years into your journey, practising for physical health, mental clarity, spiritual growth or just a little bit of peace, you are welcome here.
Tapas and soma. Striving and surrender.
The vibration beneath all things, the primordial sound of existence itself.
In Vedic symbolism, soma is the cooling lunar nectar that balances the fire of effort.
At Om Som we hold space for both: the practice and the rest. We practise not to perfect ourselves, but to return to what's already here. To reconnect. To remember.
Aaron & Paige, two locals with a shared love of intentional living.
Aaron is a yoga teacher, yoga therapist and teacher trainer, but most of all a lifelong student of the tradition. He's practised movement and meditation since he was a teenager and taught full time for over eight years.
"Before I started taking my yoga seriously, I was filled with anxiety. I was overweight, injured, and life felt heavy. Through steady yoga practice and the Ayurvedic approach to diet and lifestyle, I found my way back to health and happiness. I opened a studio because I wanted community. I wanted good-quality yoga, I wanted plants and tea, and that became Om Som."
Paige is a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic health consultant, advocate for sustainable living and lover of all beings. Yoga kept weaving its way into her life from a young age, until one day she realised she was fully committed to the path.
Less noise. More depth.
